Pool water should be tested regularly to ensure that the chemicals are at the right levels. This is usually done by use of water test kit that ensures easy and quick testing. One can tell if the pool water is balanced by how the water looks, smells and feels, it should also be silky and clear, and not have strong smell of pool chemicals.

There are different types of pool cleaning chemicals that should be used to ensure that the water is balanced and they include:

Chlorine

This is the commonly used chemical and it mainly helps to sanitize the pool water, ensures the pool is clean and the water is safe and clean to swim in. chlorine can be used in both tablet and liquid form, but there is also a salt chlorinator that is usually put in the pool water and it usually make the water soft and easy on the skin.

Oxidizers

These chemical are used to make the water clean and also disinfect the water. Oxidizers.to get better results, oxidizers should be put in pool water at night or in the evening when the sun goes down to avoid it from been destroyed by UV rays.

Bromine

This is also another chemical but its most appropriate for indoor pool, and when its used in outdoor pools it should be put at night when there is not too much sun.

There is also Cyanuric acid that is used together with chlorine t help it stay in water for long periods of time. Most chlorine tablets contain cyanuric acid and should be used in adequate amounts to avoid causing harm to the pool.

Soda ash and sodium bisulfate

They are mainly used to decrease or increase the waters PH. Soda ash is used to increase it where its mixed in a bucket of water then the solution is added in the pool, while sodium sulfate is used to decrease.

Alkalinity adjusters

These chemicals are used to ensure that the pool waters PH is well stabilized whereby the levels should be between 7.2 to 7.8. they are not used often but should always have them in store, and especially during summer time when the sun is hot because this is when most people tend to use the pool.

Pool cleaning chemicals should be stored separately in a cool area with enough ventilation, and out of pets and children. They should also be stored close to the ground to avoid falling. When opening them, to make to do that in an area that is well ventilated.
