The ideal communications recruitment agency is on the lookout for the best job candidates. And as always, it begins with their resumes or biodata. Having a degree in communication counts for something.

The school that the candidate went to matters. After all, proper schooling makes for an excellent foundation in the discipline. So there’s a chance that a communications recruitment agency may hire a fresh graduate, depending on the position’s requirements, of course.

Communication is a broad discipline. Although not as interesting as the field of psychology, a lot of psychological theories have found their way in the study of communication. In particular, theories of attitude change have impinged on the communication process from the earliest stages.

And interesting enough, the first theory of communication is the so-called bullet theory. Under this paradigm, communicating with someone is as easy as point and shoot. With the shooter hitting the target, the job is done; the message or messages have been delivered.

Unfortunately, in the real world, the art of communication doesn’t always proceed in such a predictable or straightforward manner. After all, there are always important factors between the communicator and the public in question. Age, culture, literacy, economics, psychological makeup, and politics are just a few.

These factors will help determine whether the transmission of the message will be successful or not. For example, to a person who can’t read or write, the message can be practically meaningless. That is if the message was written or in print.

The video format is an entirely different matter altogether. And this brings to the fore, the importance of the medium or media used. It matters a great deal what medium was used to communicate the message.

From all the underlying factors all the way to the media used, it’s not hard to understand why communication can be such a complicated process. In fact, nobody can guarantee that the message finally got delivered. Even if the recipient confirms the signed, sealed, delivered process–there are no guarantees in life.

There’s no 100% assurance that the party communicated to or with will act on the nature of the message no matter how elegantly presented. Communication gurus can only hope that the message got through somehow. And this brings us to another important aspect of the subject–the public opinion poll or quite simply, the survey.

A survey will tell us how the message got through. However, at best, it isn’t an exact science. Just because someone on the phone says that he or she will vote for a political figure doesn’t guarantee that the exact outcome until the votes are cast.
