Thanks to oriental painting online, the works of Asian artists are becoming more popular than ever. It has had a rather democratizing effect on people from all walks of life, and from any country or culture. It challenges patrons of Western art to look the other way, much like a society looking to find out how the other half lives.

To view oriental painting online is to have the freedom to savor or experience Asia art in many rich and diverse varieties. Freedom of expression comes in many forms. Drawings, paintings, and sculptures are the usual suspects.

However, these are just the tip of the iceberg. After all, art is a way of life and very much a part of every culture. No wonder it finds its way in what we eat.

Nothing reflects this better than a piece of china. Ancient artwork embedded in clay, ceramic or porcelain expresses creativity. But at the same time, it reflects utilitarianism in that it cannot be separated from cooking, eating or social gathering.

A long time ago, art was perceived to be something uplifting or way up there. But not anymore. Art is now everywhere. It’s in every piece of architecture just as it’s found in furniture, say, in the form of wood carvings.

It defines who we are and first found expression in cave drawings. No matter how crude, it’s inseparable from living. In fact, it permeates the dishes we serve and it doesn’t matter whether we’re talking about hamburger, pizza or sushi.

All is fair in art. We don’t need to be connoisseurs to enjoy a piece of meal. There are those who attempt to bring it to perfection. But at the end of the day, it’s easy to spot art on a dinner plate, a bottle of wine or a brew.

There is, however, an important distinction between oriental art and western art. When we refer to the former, we mean creative expression from Asia. And not just any part of Asia, if the root word orient is of any meaning.

As such, it refers to the east, so anything that belongs to the west is excluded, and therefore part of western art. However, such a distinction isn’t as easy as separating the world between the eastern and the western hemispheres. If we did that, artistry coming from European countries can get mislabeled. After all, such creative body of work is permanently a part of Western civilization.
