You are confident when you are sure of what you can do and of your ability to complete any tasks that are set out. It is is not about being superior to others, but having the inner knowledge that you are capable of doing what is needed to be done.
How confidence works is that you always feel secure and never insecure. You are aware that you have the skills and the strength to handle any situation you are confronted with. You are always ready for any challenges or tests that life may bring you every day. Your state of mind always says you can, and never that you cannot.
Confidence allows you to always be ready for any of life’s experiences. A confident person is one who always moves forward and grabs every opportunity that comes his or her way. It is not that confident persons will not come across failure or not be able to complete what they set out to do, but they have the confidence to try again and not be disheartened by the failure. They are more likely to learn from their mistakes and chalk up their failures to experience.
How confidence works is that a person who is low on confidence will be less likely to try out things that are not familiar, and will give up if they fail in doing so. This lack of confidence will always prevent a person from reaching the full potential of their knowledge and training.
To be confident you need to always be able to attempt things that are new and be sure that you can learn to do them, with a little application of mind. When a confident person compares himself or herself with others, he will understand that they may have qualities that you can also develop, and not feel be overawed by. Take risks, but make sure that they are safe, and give you the leeway to learn and accomplish what you have set yourself out to do.
A confident person will always take up challenges and take up things that are beyond their present capabilities and knowledge, and openly acknowledge that some learning needs to be acquired, without in any way feeling that this reduces others’ perception of them.
A confident person does not become overconfident, and always prepares and updates his skill and knowledge to undertake any task that has been set. Being confident needs the courage to be realistic about your knowledge and skills.
