Menopause confirms the end of fertility phase of a woman’s life after which the periodic cycle of menstruation stops. The reproductive ovaries stop producing progesterone and estrogen, two important hormones for women fertility. Menopause happens at a certain age of women around 45 years. It may happen earlier than 40 years as well and is called premature menopause.

It is essential to take proper diet with all minerals, vitamins and calcium to cover up the weakness caused by menopause.

-Hot flushes- Menopause declines the level of hormones responsible to maintain body temperature. 72% of women observe redness of face and neck due to sudden rise in body temperature. Spicy foods and strong beverages tempting body heat must be avoided during menopause.

-Sleeplessness: Insomnia or waking up too early is most commonly observed in women during menopause. Night sweats caused by hot flushes are also a big reason of sleeplessness.

-Mood swings: As observed generally during periods, some women can get anxiety, mood swings and even depression during menopause. They start feeling low and sometimes react strangely in normal family discussions. Every associated person in the family should take proper care of her mental and physical health during this phase.

-Headaches: Frequent headache due to hormonal fluctuations is another common symptom of menopause.

-Memory lapse: Short phases of forgetfulness can happen in later stages of menopause. These are associated with headaches, fatigue, dizziness and nausea. Memory boosting exercises, brain puzzles can rectify this problem.

-Osteoporosis: Estrogen is responsible for strong and healthy bones. Low level of Estrogen in menopause cause weakness of bones and chances to get bone fractures also increase.
